Lady Cougars dominate region opponent Lady Knights 3-0

The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars volleyball team defeated the Frederica Academy Lady Knights 3-0 in a GISA Region 2 match Saturday, Sept. 26, in Saint Simons Island.
They won the first set 25-21, won the second set 25-23 and won the third set 25-19.
Lady Cougar statistical leaders included Kelsey Harrell with 12 kills, Kaitlyn Holcombe with 6 kills and Abigail Mills with 6 kills.
Abigail Mills had a 100 percent serve percentage converting 13 of 13 and Addie Elkins had a 92 percent serve percentage, converting 11 of 12.
Abigail Mills had five ace serves, Sarah Castoro had 15 digs, Kelsey Harrell had 12 digs, and Lindsey Duke had 23 assists.
“Our east coast trip was very successful,” Lady Cougars coach Erwin Harrell said.
“We won all three matches without losing a set. The ladies played some great volleyball. We have now secured second place in the region with a chance to be first if we can beat Valwood Thursday, Oct. 8, in Valdosta.”
