Over five years ago, Lance Godwin opened the Bonnie Blue House restaurant in The Avenues. It has been well received as a popular lunch and evening dining spot in Bainbridge.
In January, 2012, Lance’s brother Jared came on staff as the full-time bar manager.
The two brothers worked hard together to make the Bonnie Blue House a special place for dining.
Recently Lance sold his home and turned the restaurant over to his brother Jared in order to pursue a new business in Mexico Beach, Florida.
Jared, the new owner, plans to continue the same good food and service offered before.
In addition to learning the food business by working with Lance, Jared brings the experience of managing a Poppa John’s Pizza in Statesboro while a student at Georgia Southern University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in business.
The restaurant, known for its steaks, hamburgers and selections of fresh seafood, also offers a full service bar. Jared rates the pecan chicken salad and the ribeye steaks as the most popular dishes served.
Jared said he and his staff will continue the same service and menu offerings, while adding a new limited time menu insert. The current insert offers choices of loaded potato soup, jambalaya, firecracker shrimp tacos, mahi tacos and Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken or shrimp.
Jared said he is thankful for customers’ continued patronage, and extends a warm welcome to any who have never dined at Bonnie Blue.
