The Georgia State Patrol is holding their annual Toy for Tots Christmas drive throughout the month of December.
The State Troopers are partnered with the Marine Corps Reserves as well as the Capitol Police and the Department’s Motor Carrier Compliance Division to collect toys for kids throughout the state. This is the seventh year in a row that the Georgia State Patrol is participating in Toys for Tots.
They are looking for new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations, which the Georgia State Patrol will use to purchase additional toys. Locally, donations can be made at the Bainbridge Public Safety Headquarters and the Decatur County Sheriffs’ office.
You can also give toys to any State Trooper or give them a call at 229-758-2654 and a trooper will come pick up the toy(s). Donations are being accepted through Dec. 18 at which time they will be wrapped and distributed in time for Christmas.
“We don’t want any child not to have Christmas or not have a gift to unwrap,” Trooper Brian Palmer said about the reason for the drive.
All toys collected in Decatur County will be given to kids within the county in order to support local families.
