The National Weather Service has predicted the Flint River in Bainbridge to rise to 29.4 feet this week and bring moderate flooding to the area.
The flood stage, reached when the water level is at 25 feet, hit Monday. The moderate flood stage is predicted to occurred Tuesday when the water level hit 27 feet.
The Earle May Boat Basin began to see areas of flooding as early as Monday afternoon. The City of Bainbridge Campground is closed until further notice.
Water is not expected to cause damage or get high enough to enter homes, Bainbridge Community Affairs Director Julie Harris said, but residents of Rivervale Road should expect to have flooding over the low point in the road and will need to take precautionary steps for the temporary travel barrier.
Harris also said anyone living along the Flint River should monitor the latest forecasts and prepare to take necessary steps to protect their property.
