Cougars improve to 9-5 record

Jack McRae, Noah Thomas and Sam McRae combined for 46 points Friday night at Perry Memorial Gymnasium, leading the Grace Christian Academy Cougars to a 58-38 victory over Cordele’s Crisp Academy Wildcats.

Jack McRae led the way with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Noah Thomas had 13 points, a rebound, 3 assists and a steal. Sam McRae had 10 points, 4 rebounds, a block and three steals.

Rounding out the Cougars scoring column was Nate Walton with 5 points, Nicholas Hodges with 4 points, Clay Wells with 2 points and Anders Austinson with a point. Friday night’s win improved the Cougars overall record to 9-5. They are 1-0 in the Georgia Independent Schools Association’s Region 3-AA.

Cougars head coach Mallory McRae expressed pleasure with his team’s effort following the game.

“We really played well tonight,” McRae said. “Our defense was excellent and we really rebounded well. It was nice to start our Region play with a win.”

The Bearcats returned to action Tuesday when they took on Highland Christian in Valdosta. They will take on Georgia Christian School Tuesday in Valdosta.
