BLT set to perform Perfect Wedding

Every one wants their wedding to be perfect, to come off without any problems.
But, imagine you are the groom who wakes up on his wedding day, in his own bridal suite, to find a strange woman in bed with him. What’s more, he can’t remember ever meeting her, nor how he got where he is. Knowing that the bride-to-be is on her way to the room, he panics as he tries to get the strange woman out of his room before she is seen by anyone.
Well, that is the case of the bridegroom, in “Perfect Wedding,” a comedy that opens at the Bainbridge Little Theatre on Thursday, May 5.
The play, written by Robin Hawdon, is directed by Pamela Barnes. The frantic bridegroom convinces his best man to pretend the mystery girl is his girlfriend. That does not go down well with his actual girlfriend, and when the parents and hotel staff get involved there is more hysteria, as the misconceptions continue to mount.
How to get this situation unsnarled is a challenge.
Director Barnes describes the show as “a quirky fast-paced English comedy with a surprise ending.”
The cast consists of Richard Whitehead who plays best man Tom, Jenna Chambless, as the bride Rachel; Austin Rowe portrays the frantic groom Bill; Ida Cooksey is Daphne, the bride’s emotional mother; Rachael Crager plays Judy, a very attractive girl and a kooky young chambermaid Julie is played by Krysti Ramer.
Barnes commented, “It is a wonderful cast. It is nice to see a couple of new faces in Kristi and Rachael and to see how they have grown in their roles.”
The adult themed show runs through the weekend with the curtain rising at 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Fri. and Sat. nights and closing with a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.
Opening night includes a wine and cheese party for patrons in the Ruth Langston Garden beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are available by calling 229-246-8345 Mon. through Fri. from 1 to 6 p.m. or email bainbridgelittletheatre@gmail.com.
