We support the Blue in our community

We, the staff of The Post-Searchlight, would like to thank our local law enforcement for all the work they do to keep our community safe.
Bainbridge Public Safety, the Decatur County Sheriff’s and Georgia State Patrol officers work tirelessly to protect our community.
On the front of today’s issue we published a special wrapper to commemorate the officers in town and the work that they do. So much of their impact occurs behind the scenes and we would like to take this opportunity to give them their moment in the limelight.
Day and night, weekdays and weekends and on holidays the officers are out patrolling the streets and making sure that residents of Bainbridge and Decatur County are safe.
We would be remiss to not mention the work that the Decatur County Board of Education and Bainbridge State College officers due to keep students safe. They may not be seen as much, but their impact on this community is no less important.
It takes courage to leave the house every day and willing yourself out in harms way to protect your community. The police have been victimized recently and multiple officers in Dallas, Baton Rouge and around the country have paid the ultimate price to protect the communities they call home.
It is time to start honoring our officers once again. The men and women that protect this community put their lives on the line each and every day. They do not do it for the money, but instead because they feel the need to serve and protect.
They are the heroes of this local community and communities across the country.
That is why we have taken this time to thank and salute our local officers. Bainbridge and Decatur County would not be the place it is without your work and sacrifice.
From all of us here at The Post-Searchlight, we appreciate you. We support you. Thank you for everything that you do to keep this city and county safe.
