The annual Community Band Christmas Concert will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Kirbo Center at 7:30 p.m. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event is free and open to the whole community.
“A lot of people enjoy music and they enjoy this time of year,” director Paschal Ward said. “I think it adds to the season and the spirit. We are giving back to the community. The people that are performing enjoy performing for other people.”
The band features 70 members ranging from current Bearcat Band members to lawyers, doctors and church ministers. The band will play a collection of classic holiday favorites, but Ward said that the official program will be kept a secret until the time of the concert.
“I bill it as a traditional Christmas with the community band,” Ward said.
The performance is expected to last about an hour.
