BHS FFA places first at career area’s development event

Bainbridge High School FFA members competed in the first Area V Conduct of Chapter Meetings Career Development Event, held at Bainbridge High School. Seven other schools in the South Region, Area V participated in the event. The Bainbridge FFA placed first in the event and this team will travel to the State CDE held in Macon at the State FFA Convention and represent Area V. The Conduct of Chapter Meetings CDE is designed to develop leadership skills and teach students how to effectively participate in business meetings. By participating in the Conduct of Chapter Meetings CDE students will be able to: 1) demonstrate correct use of the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies; 2) Demonstrate parliamentary procedure to conduct an orderly efficient meeting; 3) Communicate and participate effectively as a team member; and 4) Demonstrate critical thinking and teamwork for effective decision making.
The Georgia FFA Organization is a youth organization of more than 37,000 student members focused on preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Georgia Department of Education provides support, leadership and helps set direction for the FFA as a service to the local agricultural education programs.
