City of Bainbridge Memorial Hospital board member Glennie Bench told the Bainbridge Lions Club Wednesday that the hospital continues to make progress and serve the community well.
“We made a profit in September, October, November December and January,” Bench said in opening her remarks. “The hospital board is made up of two city of Bainbridge appointees and five Decatur County appointees. Myself and Charles Tyson are the city employees and Marvalyn Carroll, Rusty Davis, Donald Barber, Doctor Linda Jones and Doctor Charles Walker are the county appointees.
“Our CEO is Billy Walker and we have recently hired Gregg Majors as an interim chief finance officer. We have had some financial problems but we are working them out. Currently Doctor Walker is our only full time surgeon but we do have another surgeon who comes in on the weekends. There are some doctors in Bainbridge who are not on the hospital staff.”
Bench further told the Lions that the hospital has a very good women’s center and some state of the art laboratory machines. Our staff is very loyal and dedicated to the patients they serve,” she said. “They are their number one priority day in and day out.”
