Mae Quintilla Gilbourn, 77, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Ryan Matillo, Bryan Digby, Jonathan Joiner, Kenneth Kelley, James Gilbourn and Robert Givens serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Mae Quintilla Lewis was born February 15, 1940, in Edison, Ga., the daughter of Manuel Walter Lewis and Welthy Mae Tomlinson Lewis. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School. Quintilla married Jefferson Franklin Gilbourn in 1960, a loving marriage of 53 years. She was of Baptist faith.

Family was important to Quintilla. She spent her days caring for each one and cooking great meals to share. When given the opportunity, Quintilla would always choose a shopping trip, especially with the girls. She had a huge heart for pets, and that included anyone’s pets, but was especially fond of cats.

Survivors include her children, Gwen Vickers and her husband, Jack, of Dothan, Greg Gilbourn and his wife, Milly, of Bainbridge and Andrea Givens and her husband, Robert, also of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Ryan Matillo, Josh Cook, Brittany Joiner, Kole Gilbourn and Taylor Givens; and her great-grandchildren, Marissa Matillo, Scarlett Matillo, Rylan Cook and Landyn Cook. Quintilla was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jeff Gilbourn; and her brother, Walter “Bubs” Lewis.
