Cochran said he was very honored to have been selected to serve in this capacity and to represent the 180 superintendents and districts across the state. He went on to say he feels it is important to stay involved and active with organizations like GSSA so that we can make sure our students in Decatur County have a voice.

The duties will allow Cochran a seat at the table of various functions across Georgia to be a voice for not only Decatur County but districts across the state.

GSSA is an association made up of all 180 school superintendents across Georgia. It works with the Department of Education, state legislators and the Georgia School Board Association to advocate for Georgia’s public school children.
