Lady Cats sit at second in region

The Lady Cats basketball team (20-4) is currently 5-3 in Region 1-AAAAA, sitting at second place behind 6-0 Harris County (21-2).

Bainbridge added another win to their region record Saturday night against Thomas County Central at home, but fell the night before in a crucial game against Warner Robins on the road.

The Lady Demons (11-10, 2-5 region) defender their home court and won 50-43. Previously, the Lady Cats hosted Warner Robins on Jan. 13 and won 53-49.

Bainbridge corrected itself and finished off the region schedule strong against the rival Lady Yellow Jackets. A low scoring first half ended up leading to a second half explosion that rocketed the Lady Cats to a 45-23 win.

Bainbridge led 6-2 after the first quarter and 12-9 at halftime. The Lady Cats went off when they took the court against, pouring in 17 points to take a 29-16 lead at the end of the third quarter. They put another 16 points in the bucket in the fourth to seal the win.

Bainbridge’s last game of the regular season is Friday against Seminole County (3-14). Then the team will head to Warner Robins for the Region Tournament.

Sitting at third in the region is Veterans with a 4-3 record (17-6 overall), at fourth is Warner Robins at 2-5 (11-10 overall) and at last place is Thomas County Central with an 0-6 record (1-20 overall).
