Rick McCaskill, executive director of the Development Authority of Bainbridge and Decatur County, updated the Bainbridge Lions Club Wednesday on the progress of the construction of a facility to house the North American headquarters of Taurus USA, a leading firearms manufacturer in Bainbridge.
“Taurus USA’s previous North American headquarters was in Miami,” McCaskill said in opening his address to the Lions. “The company has selected the city’s Commodore Industrial Park to construct a 200,000-square-foot facility with the city and the county doing the site work. It should take about 15 months to build the facility.”
McCaskill said the new 73-acre facility should also add significantly to the counties tax base. More than 300 families coming here for the headquarters should add significantly to the county tax base.”
McCaskill said that Tim Smith of SouthWind Plantation hosted some Taurus USA officials and their families for a n enjoyable hunt.
