NHC warns of tropical storm weather moving toward Decatur County

The National Hurricane Center has issued a special Tropical Weather Outlook for an area of disturbed weather in the Caribbean that will move into the central or eastern Gulf of Mexico later this week, Decatur-Grady Emergency Communications reported in an email this morning.
Although no development is expected for the next few days, there is a 20 percent chance of tropical development later in the week. Regardless of whether or not this area of low pressure develops into a tropical system, the tristate area will be in a very wet pattern for the next week. Expect average rainfall totals of three to seven inches to accumulate through next Sunday night, the email said.
Decatur-Grady Emergency Communications and The Post-Searchlight will keep you posted on any updates regarding this system.
