Gavel passed to new president at Bainbridge Lions Club

Bainbridge Lions Club president Adele Cunningham and president elect Michael Jarrett reviewed the many successes in the 2017-2018 Lions year, and reviewed the program for the upcoming Lions annual awards banquet at their regular Wednesday meeting.
“We had many successful programs during the year to help both youth and adults,” Cunningham said. “Those programs included our annual skeet shoot, Decatur County Special Olympics, Bainbridge State College scholarships, the Friendship House of Jesus, the Decatur County Senior Center, Leader Dogs and the Georgia Lions Camp for The Blind near Waycross.
During the awards banquet, the Lion of the Year will be named and president Jarrett and the other Lions officers will be officially installed by Lion Vice District Governor Brenda Arnold of District 18-0. She is a member of the Moultrie Lions Club.
Newly elected Lions president Jarrett told his fellow members that he is dedicated to serving the needs of the blind and visually impaired of Decatur County the District and the state.
The June 27 awards program will begin at noon at Bainbridge Country Club. President Cunningham will greet and introduce the members and guests and special music will follow. Incoming president Jarrett will conclude the awards banquet by challenging all the newly installed officers to uphold the Lions motto of we serve.
