Josh Paske, development director of Friends With Jesus Ministries, updated the Bainbridge Lions Club Wednesday on the strong progress its various ministries are making.
“The Friendship With Jesus Ministries includes Friendship House, whose mission is to befriend children and youth in our community and provide them with a safe place to study, learn, play and grow, and lead them with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Paske told the Lions that the ministries also include Still Waters, a temporary home for displaced women and children that provides them with a safe place with faith based principles to facilitate transitions back into the community.
“Our mission at Still Waters is to make sure that each woman is able to leave with an affordable place to live, and income to support herself and an understanding of God’s love,” Paske said.
Paske added that the program at Still Waters includes daily chores, Bible study, job skills, community resources, transition support and strategic planning. He pointed out that hand-poured soy products made by the women of Still Waters can be purchased and provide restoration and employment for them.
Paske concluded his remarks by pointing out that Friends With Jesus Ministries is still saving and changing lives, partnering with people, fostering friendships and leading others to Christ.
“With the spirit of Christ in our hearts, and you walking with us as a family, together our community and this ministry has a bright and hopeful future,” Paske said. “We highly value our relationship with you and invite you to hang out with us whenever you can. Your impact on the hundreds of lives touched by Friends With Jesus Ministries is making a positive impact, and for that we are extremely grateful.”
