Bearcats named on All Region football list

The Bainbridge football team had a number of outstanding players named to the All Region 1-AAAAA team, including standout defensive end Roman Harrison receiver the Defensive Player of the Year award.
Harrison has racked up 89 total tackles this season, 72 solo and 17 with assists. Thirty-one of those total tackles were for a loss. He also has 25.5 total quarterback pressures and has 8.5 sacks under his belts and 17 QB hurries.
Harrison is a four-star recruit and committed to Tennessee.
Senior Jacob McLaughlin made the First Team Offense. McLaughlin fought through injury at the beginning of the season and has become a linchpin blocker that has helped vault the Bearcats through its massive playoff run. Behind his blocking, the Bearcats have rushed for 2,197 yards this season and thrown for 1,698 yards.
Randy Fillingame, a senior linebacker, was named to the First Team Defense. Fillingame was talked about at the beginning of the season by his coaches for his leadership abilities, which have shined all season. He leads the team in tackles with 110 total, 77 of which are solo. He has four forced fumbles, four sacks and five QB hurries.
Five players were named to the Second Team Offense. Quarterback Quayde Hawkins, who has passed for 1,601 yards and 12 touchdowns, running back Caleb McDowell, who leads the team in touchdowns with 15, Aaron Spivie, the Bearcats top receiver with 473 yards and two touchdowns, Bowen Dodson, a tight end and long snapper, and Brad Mitchell, a starting offensive lineman, all were named to the list.
Three more players were named to the Second Team Defense. Bryce Worthy, who has 94 tackles, five forced fumbles and 25.5 QB pressures, Deyon Bouie, who leads the team in interceptions with five, and Jaheim Jenkins, who has 19 total tackles on the season, were all named to the list.
Bainbridge will play Warner Robins in the State Class AAAAA Championship next Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 4:30 p.m.
