Bainbridge freshman Deyon Bouie put himself on the national recruiting map this season, particularly during the Bearcats five-game playoff run.
So far, Bouie, who played as cornerback, wide receiver and quarterback his freshman year, has offers from five major Division 1 programs: Florida State, Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee and Alabama. He is also fielding an offer from Kent State and Florida Atlantic.
The Class of 2022 athlete was also recently featured on the DawgNation Georgia sports blog, where Georgia recruit writer Jeff Sentell singled out Bouie as a name to know in the class.
On offense, Bouie rushed for 54 yards on 21 carries and had 8 receptions for 186 yards and a touchdown. But where the 5-11, 165-pound freshman truly shined was defense. He had 6 interceptions on the season and 87 interception yards, 12 passes defensed and a fumble recovery. He also had 30 tackles and one assist.
Sophomore running back also had a huge showing this season, and has collected an offer from Florida Atlantic in what is sure to be the first of many.
McDowell was named to Recruit Georgia’s All-State team in December as a return man. He had a 100-yard kick-off return for a touchdown against Buford in the state quarterfinals. He racked up 1,700 all purple yards and 17 touchdowns for Bainbridge this season. He also had 35 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
Both players are sure to be major components for the Bearcats on offense, defense and special teams moving forward.
