Port City Holding Company, Inc., the parent company of First Port City Bank, announced today that it has received regulatory approval to expand bank operations into Nassau County, Florida. Approval of the de novo branch application follows First Port City Bank’s purchase of its first Florida location, 463781 State Route 200, Yulee, Florida (in front of Home Depot).
First Port City Bank, headquartered in Bainbridge, Georgia, was founded in 1974 and operates two branches in Bainbridge and one branch in Donalsonville, Georgia. First Port City Bank maintains approximately $215 million in assets, $190 million in deposits, and $155 million in gross loans.
With its expansion into Nassau County, First Port City Bank has elected local resident and former CBC bank executive, W. Durand Childers to its Board of Directors. “With the acquisition of CBC, it was my opinion that a true, community banking experience would be lacking. Having known Durand, and most especially working with him directly on two different occasions, I know the passion he has for this community and for community banking. His passion for community, together with his industry knowledge and track record for building successful business lines, falls in line with our culture of ‘Putting People First’. We look forward to the distinct and respected opportunities for growth and partnership within Nassau County. We could not be more excited about entering this market, and we feel very fortunate to have Durand’s leadership on our team,” says Scott Ewing, President & CEO of First Port City Bank.
