Soccer teams celebrate seasons at banquet

Many Bearcat and Lady Cat soccer players were recognized for their excellence on and off the field at last Thursday’s Bainbridge soccer banquet.
For the varsity Bearcats, Garrett Sigman was awarded the Academic Achievement Award, Caleb Harris earned the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Andru Matthews received the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Cesar Chiguil was given Most Valuable Player, Nix McIntosh earned the Coaches Award and Mason Ard was honored with the Newcomer Award.
All Region Medallions were given to Caleb Harris and Cesar Chiguil. Harris had 22 goals and 7 assists, and Chiguil racked up 10 goals and 11 assists.
Honorable Mention recognitions were given to McIntosh, Angel Munoz, Tom Emmons, Joe Emmons, Matthews and Ard.
For the varsity Lady Cats, Sandy Baker was honored with the Academic Award, Mabry-Grace Briggs received the Offensive Award, Sandy Baker was given the Defensive Award, Jamya Brinson was honored with the MVP Award, Taylor Emmons was given the Coaches Award and Aubrey Hill earned the Newcomer Award.
All-Region Medallions were given to Brinson and Briggs, who were both named first team, and Emmons, who received Honorable Mention.
On the J.V. Bearcats team, Pierce Taunton was given the Academic Achievement Award, Luke Emmons earned the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Jabez Minnis was honored with the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Jose Avalo was given Most Valuable Player Award and the Coaches Award was given to Jacob Duke.
For the J.V. Lady Cats, Aubrey Hill was given the Academic Achievement Award, Annakate Littleton received the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Mallory Inlow was given the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Evelyn Mach was honored with the Most Valuable Player Award and Abi Surratt was given the Coaches Award.
On the Middle School Bearcats team, Ethan Burke was given the Academic Achievement Award, Blake Fagan received the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Daniel Cofty was given the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Michael Rich was honored with the Most Valuable Player Award and Carter Pollock was given the Coaches Award.
For the Middle School Lady Cats, Ava Prouse was given the Academic Achievement Award, Addison Hill received the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Aleny Perez was given the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Nicole Tyre was honored with the Most Valuable Player Award and Tirar Wade was given the Coaches Award.
