Wanda Gail Askew Stinson, age 70, of Iron City, Ga. passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Ala.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stinson wee held on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, at 3 p.m. at New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Mock and Rev. David Williams officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery with Freddie Askew, Randy Askew, Steve Amerison, Mac Harrison, Michael Powell, Jason Clenney, and Scott Barrineau serving as active casketbearers.  Honorary casketbearers were Will Barber and Carroll Jones.  Visitation was held on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 29, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stinson was born in Donalsonville, Ga. on Nov. 11, 1948 to Sim and Lillian Miller Askew.  She was a florist and a member of New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church.  Mrs. Stinson loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.  She also had a deep love for gospel music.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Cecil Stinson of Iron City, her daughters, Tondra Albritton of Bainbridge, Ga. and Cecily Phillips (Thomas Dilmore) of Iron City; her sister, Nora Henegar (Dale) of Leesburg, Ga. and her brother, Billy Askew (Betty) of Indiana.  Mrs. Stinson is also survived by her grandchildren, Constance Barrineau (Scott), Whitney Albritton, Cecil “Shane” Phillips, and Joshua “Blake” Phillips; as well as her great-grandson, Triston Barrineau.

Mrs. Stinson was preceded in death by her parents, Sim and Lillian Miller Askew and her brother, Willis Askew.
