Bainbridge basketball starts off with wins against Berrien

The Bainbridge Bearcat and Lady Cat varsity basketball teams got their seasons off on the right foot last week.
The boys won 51-41 and the girls had a commanding 48-13 victory.
In double figures for the Bearcats was Tyrell Bryant with 12 points. Other scorers for the Bearcats were KJ Cochran with 9 points, Dewayne Kyles with 8 points, Dorian Cooper and Mark Taylor with 6 points each, Alvanni William with 4 points, Lathan Levens with 3 points, TJ Tarver with 2 points and Dylun Worlds with 1 point.
In double figures for the Lady Cats were India Paris with 16 points and Taralyn Brown with 12 points. Other scorers for the Lady Cats were Kirston Noble with 6 points, Detavia Salter and Taniah Register with 4 points each and Anndrea Porter, Marquita Jakes and Denise Chappell with 2 points each.
The J.V. Bearcats (1-0) won 50-30 behind double figure scoring from Dialan Beard with 15 points and Lathan Levens with 11 points.
Bainbridge hosted Colquitt County Tuesday night and will host Thomasville on Friday. The girls tip off at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
The region schedule starts against Harris County on Dec. 6, followed by games at Thomas County Central on Dec. 14, at home against Veterans on Jan. 3 and at home against Warner Robins on Jan. 11.
Bainbridge then finishes the season with games against Harris County on Jan. 17, at Veterans on Jan. 18, at Warner Robins on Jan. 24 and against Thomas County Central on Jan. 25, followed by a final game against Seminole County.
