Clara Mae Dodson was born January 29, 1945 in Camilla, Ga., the daughter of Hugh and Willie Mae Sellers Dodson. She lived and worked in Pelham for years. Clara Mae was one of a few that made money from her hobby. She was a talented seamstress and sewed anything for most anyone. She enjoyed the outdoors and tending her plants. Clara Mae’s dog, Arby, helped keep the grandchildren corralled and entertained, though his real job was simply being the only animal she ever loved.

Survivors include her children, Dorenda & Tony Miller, Sherry Jones, Lisa & Buddy Brady, Melissa & Evan Cato, Regina & R.C. Walker, and Kenneth & Fay Lasseter; her siblings, Alice Fay Humphries, Patsy Bryan, William Dodson, and Archie Dodson; her many grandchildren including Alexis Mary Mae Roberts whom she raised as her own child; and her numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Clara Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Garrett Lassester; her stepson, Tim Clark; and her brother, Forrest Dodson.
