Bainbridge cross-country runner Stokes Moore was recognized as the Most Positive Boys’ Cross-Country Athlete in Southwest Georgia by the Positive Athlete organization.
As a regional winner, Moore has the opportunity to compete state-wide against other winners later this summer. State-wide winners will be announced in early June.
Positive Athlete is a celebration of young Athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities in a significant way, or just have an infectious positive attitude that makes everyone around them a better person. We celebrate them with awards, corporately sponsored scholarships, unique opportunities, and CNN Sports tells their stories on a national media platform to inspire other athletes. Over 7 years, thousands of high school athletes have been nominated by coaches, parents, teachers, family members, and fans. And over $350,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
This year has been a wonderful year for Positive Athlete with growth all around the state. Over 5,000 student-athletes and coaches from over 420 high schools were nominated this year, and only about 7% of those nominees will be recognized as a regional winner. You are the best of the best! We hope that winning this award will be a valuable addition to your resume, applications and will be something your school and family will celebrate.
