Kenneth Wayne Keller, Sr., 94, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private funeral service will be held at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Ausburn officiating.

Kenneth Wayne Keller, Sr. was born October 18, 1925 in State College, Pa., the son of Wayne George Keller and Margaret Knisely Keller. He married Shirley Irene Waite in 1942 and shortly thereafter proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Kenneth and Shirley relocated from New Castle, Delaware to Bainbridge 1974 as part of Patchogue Plymouth to serve at Bainbridge Mills. He was Baptist by faith.

After many years of involvement in various divisions of what was eventually to become Amoco Fabrics & Fibers, Kenneth retired as Vice-President of Manufacturing. He took great pride in the “affects and effects” of Bainbridge Mills to the economy and people of Decatur County. He was meticulous and methodical, a man of few words responding only after careful thought and consideration were given to the subject. Kenneth enjoyed music, working in his yard & greenhouse, and growing beautiful plants. His children and all the grands held a special place in his heart. His motto was “Anyone worth having is worth spoiling.”

Survivors include his children, Ken & Joan Keller of Ideal, Ga. and Linda & Roger Nix of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Angela & Larry, Tracy & Buddy, Karen & Scot, Cindy, Cathy & Evan, and Bert & Rebecca; his twenty great-grandchildren; and his eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Shirley Keller; and his siblings, Robert Keller, Peggy Ishler, and Nancy Brown.
