James Walter “J.W.” Warriner, age 80, of Donalsonville, Ga. passed away Sunday evening, August 2, 2020 at Encompass Health and Rehab in Dothan, Ala..
Funeral services for Mr. Warriner will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 11a.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Richard Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. We highly recommend wearing masks and social distancing will need to be practiced. Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made to UF Shands Hospital c/o UF Foundation PO Box 14425 Gainesville, FL 32610-4425, checks should be made to the University of Florida Foundation Inc. and in the memo line note In Memory of J.W. Warriner. The foundation would like for anyone contributing to put a note in with the check with the next of kin’s name and address.
Mr. Warriner was born in Seminole County, Ga. on July 23, 1940 to James Baxter and Irene Thursby Warriner. He spent most of his life farming with his son, Jamie Warriner and most recently with his grandson, Alex Johnson. Mr. Warriner was a member of the Salem-Seminole Masonic Lodge, the Seminole County Young Farmers, and the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an avid hunter and member of the S&W Hunting Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Hilda Warriner of Donalsonville; his daughter, Lisa Johnson and her husband Tommy of Bainbridge, Ga.; his grandchildren, Alex and Kaleah Beth Johnson and Maci and Laci Johnson; Jamie’s children, Madison and Courtney Warriner; his sister, Liddell Boulus of Augusta, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Warriner was preceded in death by his parents, James Baxter and Irene Thursby Warriner; his step-father, Jim Harrell; and his son, Jamie Warriner.
