Roy Lenville Meadows was born February 6, 1949 in Milton, W.Va., the son of Raymond and Opal Nibert Meadows. He married Janet Rice in 1968. They lived almost half of their married life in West Virginia then headed to “The Lake”. Roy was Baptist by faith.
He worked in retail grocery for a number of years, but his passion was yardwork. Roy said it wasn’t really like a job because he enjoyed being outside so much. At one point, he had over one hundred clients. Needless to say, Roy never met a stranger and kept busy. He loved people and loved doing for others. Living a simple life was his daily plan and those that knew him agreed this plan suited Roy well.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janet Meadows; his children, Mary Meadows, Roy Lee Meadows and his wife, Heather, and David Meadows, all of Lake Seminole; and Martha Meadows Ross and her husband, Lemuel, of Donalsonville, Ga.; his sister, Dorothy Conard; his brother-in-law, Otis Leo Rice; his mother-in-law, Ernestine Coovert; and his grandchildren, Sawyer & Madison, Alex & Maddie Rae, Abigail & Hunter, and Savanna. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Meadows, and his brother-in-law, James Conard.
