Dorthy Sue Scott, 73, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Whigham, Ga., with Rev. Steve Poppell officiating. Mrs. Scott’s grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Dorthy Sue Baggett was born November 27, 1946 in Whigham, Ga., the daughter of Herbert “Speedy” and Rachel Agnes Baggett. She was a homemaker with an exceptional green thumb. She enjoyed her time gardening, tending her flowers, camping and fishing trips, and decorating her home and yard for each holiday. Most importantly, she loved to cook meals and have friends and family gather at her table. Her motto at mealtime was “If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault!” Mrs. Scott was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Lawrence W. Scott; her children, Britt & Connie Jackson of Starke, Fla., Eddie & Robbie Lynn Jackson of Sale City, Ga., Janie Jackson & Mark of Cottonwood, Ala., Tony McDonald of Bainbridge, Ga., and Paula & Dolan Busby of Brinson, Ga.; her siblings, Steve & Meddie Baggett, Charles Baggett, Donna Baggett, Paul Baggett, and Mary & Larry Bragg; her grandchildren, Devon, Jaelyn, Edward, Jr., Ernie Wayne, Brittney, Summer, Hayden, Evan, Tyler, Matthew, and Cole; and her great-granddaughter, Makenna. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Arnold Baggett.
