Olga Glover Gainous, 92, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bob Glover officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Ryan Gainous, Brantley Jones, J.L. King, Jordan Harrison, and Cole Whigham serving as active pallbearers. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Olga Jeanette Glover was born December 12, 1927 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of George and Molly Brock Glover. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and worked for 25 years at Bainbridge State Hospital. Olga was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

“Miss” Olga was not one to sit still. She was very athletic and loved all sorts of sports especially BHS Basketball and of course anything Carlton coached. She enjoyed riding her bicycle, camping, fishing, and bowling. In fact, she was still rolling strikes at 80 years old. “Miss” Olga kept her yards and house in order. She could bake most anything but was known for her tomato gravy & biscuits. She traveled to all fifty states leaving each one a little better than she found it. “Miss” Olga treasured her family and the memories they shared.

Survivors include her children, Karen & Timmy Jones of Cairo, Ga.; Jeff Gainous of Bainbridge, Ga. and Suela Gainous also of Cairo, Ga.; her grandchildren, Brittney & J.L., Carley & Cole, Aubrey, Brantley, Caroline & Jordan, and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Emileigh, Tripp, Carlton, and Claire; and her brother, Marlon Glover and his wife, Betty of Dallas, Ga.. In addition to her parents, Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Carlton Gainous; her son, Carlton Gainous; her grandchildren, Taylor Gainous, Benjamin Gainous, and Kyle Jones; and her siblings, Cullen Glover, Lenton Glover, Cecile Meachum, Velma Adams, Sara Argo, and Nell Higginbottom.
