Marjorie Mae Johnson, 73, passed away on December 30, 2020 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo., surrounded by her family due to complications from COVID.

Margie, as she was called by her friends and family, was born July 5, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to John G. and Allie Wilsie Olivent Carr. She resided in St. Petersburg Fla., Eufala Ala., Germany, Bainbridge Ga., Nashville Tenn., Jackson and Cape Girardeau Mo.

Margie was a force to be reckoned with. If it needed done, she got it done. She loved her family fiercely. She lived a life full of travel, change, experiences, good cooking and leadership. She spent time as a block mason, a restaurant owner, an adoptive mother, a swim mom, and most recently as “Mama Bear” at the facility where she resided. To say she was loved by all is an understatement. Her presence with us here on Earth will be hugely missed until we see her again in Heaven.
