Johnny A. Meeks, 72, of Brinson, Ga., passed away Friday, January 22, 2021.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Brinson Cemetery with Chaplain Jason Bennett officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Johnny Albert Meeks was born February 11, 1948 in McRae, Ga., the son of Johnny and Flora Burkhalter Meeks. He lived in Southwest Georgia most of his life and was a truck driver by trade. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Johnny loved to tinker on most anything. He could weld, mechanic and fix most of what he tore up. He would take a day off every now and then and do a little fishing. Johnny loved his animals and said he could talk to them any time because they didn’t talk back.
Survivors include his fiancé, Shirley Callaghan; his daughters, Loria Meeks of Moultrie, Ga., and Samantha Davidson of Brinson, Ga.; his grandchildren, Andy, Zackery, Leaola. Kyle and Bryce; his great-grandchild, Ayden; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his son, Chris A. Meeks.
