Miss Smith to wed Mr. Hagan in May

Mr. and Mrs. Van Smith of Bainbridge, Georgia, are announcing the engagement and pending marriage of their daughter Katie Smith to Reese Hagan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Hagan, of Yoakum, Texas.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edwin Smith of Bainbridge and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Whitfield of Chattahoochee, Fla.

Miss Smith is a 2004 graduate of Bainbridge High School and received an Associate of Science in Beef Production from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Science in Agricultural Communications, which she received in 2011 from Oklahoma State University.

Miss Smith is employed as a livestock marketer and is the owner of Katie Smith Livestock Photography, LLC.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Hagan of Yoakum, Texas and of the late Mr. A.R. Hagan, Mrs. Evelyn Knippa Brzozowski and Mr. Reinhard Allen Knippa, all deceased.

Mr. Hagan is a 2005 graduate of Yoakum High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Animal Science, from Texas A&M in 2010. He is a rancher, specializing in purebred Simmental, Simbrah and Brahman cattle.

The wedding will take place May 1, 2021 at 5:30 CST at Hagan Cattle Company Ranch, 656 CR 416, Yoakum Texas, where the reception will follow.

A reception will also be held in Bainbridge, Georgia at a later date.
