Julia Key wins dance competition

Julia Raye Key, 12, recently competed at the Encore Dance Competition in Jekyll Island, Georgia and the Inspire National Dance Competition in Vidalia, Georgia, where she brought home multiple wins.
While competing at the Encore Dance Competition, Key danced in two solo categories, Jazz and Lyrical. She scored Platinum in both solos, winning 1st overall in Lyrical and 3rd overall in Jazz, along with winning the Super Soloist Category.
She then headed to the Inspire National Dance Competition on Friday. There, she won Platinum for both her Jazz and Lyrical solos and received two medals. In addition, she won Judges Choice for Best Costume for her Lyrical solo.
She will now compete in Statesboro, Georgia and Lakeland, Florida for other competitions in the month of April.
Key has been a student at Lucretia’s School of Dance for 11 years and has been a student teacher for the past three years, helping assist with the 2-7 years-old tiny dancers.
She is the daughter of Steve and Joy Key and granddaughter of Gene and Linda Key and Barbara Harrell.
