Carried to Heaven on Angels Wings on 12/14/20, Lu passed away suddenly. She was born in Bainbridge, Ga., and graduated from “Cairo Hi School”, Class of 1954. Shortly after graduation she went to work with Southern Bell, where she worked as a supervisor for 39 years.
She traveled with many of her friends, went on cruises and enjoyed life. She became bored and went to work at PGA Tour in Ponte Vedra for 26 ½ years. When she spoke about her life, she always said the Lord had been incredibly good to her, and that she had always enjoyed her jobs because she had met so many wonderful people.
Lu was a very sweet, Southern Lady. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was not only my beautiful Aunt, she was “My Very Best Friend”, she was always there for me and her family.
She was predeceased by parents, Franklin Roy and Ethel Cleo White; sisters Ruth White Tomlinson, Ruby Dennison, Micki Ferguson and Judy Borgia; and brothers Roy, Edward and Robert White. Survived by sister Jenny Reagan, and family of Oklocknee, Ga.; nieces Deloris “DD” and Al Chancey and family of Jax, Fla., Kathi, Lem Prince and family of Thomasville, Ga., Karen Ferguson, Marco Island, Fla.; and great niece, Erica, William Hixon and family of Guyton, Ga.
Now that Lu is in heaven, I know that her little dog, Binki, was waiting for her and they ran across the “Rainbow Bridge” together to join her family, there waiting for them.
Graveside services are on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM, Greenwood Cemetery, Row J-2, 354 Broad St, Cairo, Ga. 39828.
