Sara Avina De Bocanegra

Sara Avina De Bocanegra, age 83, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service was held in her honor at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 29, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Arnoldo Gonzalez officiated.

Sara was born on September 30, 1937 in Estacion Ramirez, Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, daughter of Jose Aviña and Julia Ramos.   She married Alfredo Bocanegra, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage, always showing hospitality and kindness to others.  She served at Cristo Te Ama y Nueva Vida Church. Her life was full of hard work and sacrifices for the family to which she was dedicated until the last day of her life. Sara dearly loved her grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed.   Sara is survived by her sons, José Alfredo Bocanegra and Jesús Bocanegra; daughter-in-law Yashira Bocanegra; brothers, San Juana Aviña, Ismael Aviña, Julio Aviña, Pedro Aviña, Fernando Aviña; and four grandchildren José Alfredo Bocanegra, Santiago Bocanegra, Julie Bocanegra and Jared Seth Bocanegra.
