The Bainbridge Decatur County Recreation Authority in partnership with the Bainbridge High School Bearcat Baseball Team will be hosting a Balling with the Bearcats Baseball Camp July 12-16.

BHS Bearcat Coach Donnie Coxwell said the seniors who recently graduated will be returning to head up the camp and lead the youth in this endeavor.

The camp will be open to players of all skill level ages 8-14.

“We won’t cap out,” Coxwell said. “No one will be turned away.”

Coxwell said the senior Bearcats plan to focus on defense, offense, catching and pitching, along with some fundamental drills they learned during their time on the team.

This partnership with the Recreation Authority is one Coxwell said he is excited about.

He said the hope is to work closely with Ryan Riles and Director Joel Holmes to create a feeder program, so by the time players step foot on the Bearcat Diamond they already know what is expected.

The camp will last from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. daily and be held at the Bearcat Diamond, 1 Bearcat Blvd.

The cost is $40 and includes a t-shirt.
