A Homecoming celebration for the Life and Legacy of Brother Nellum Grant. Brother Nellum Grant was born on March 18, 1955, to the late George W. and Mazzie Lee Grant in Colquitt, Ga. Nellum was a loving and caring son, husband, brother, father, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. Nellum never met a person he considered a stranger.
At an early age, he joined Saint Marry Missionary Baptist Church in Colquitt, Ga. He later moved his membership to Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Nellum worked for Twin H Farms, which is something he loved to do. He loved the outdoors and working on vehicles. God gave Nellum many talents. He was a phenomenal machinist with the ability to diagnose and fix as soon as someone told him the machine’s problem.
He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Angel Grant. He leaves to cherish his loving but never forgotten memory, devoted wife of 21 years, Angel Grant; six children: Christopher Grant (Chandra), Geary Grant (Shawndrell), Eddie Jermain Grant (Shantel) of Texas, Billy Grant of Ft. Mitchell, Michael Patterson (Misty) of SW Florida; Vanessa Ausgood (Brett) of Bainbridge, Ga.; Two sisters, Nellie Miller (Willie) of Jersey City, N.J., and Majorie Shannon (Edward) of Atlanta, Ga.; Two brothers, George Grant, Jr. (Linza) of Colquitt, Ga. and Jerry Grant of Albany, Ga.; Two sisters-in-law, Emma R. Patterson and Deloris Miller-Grant; three brothers-in-law, Tony Green of Albany, Ga., Willie K. Patterson (Willie) of Ft. Valley, Ga., and Michael Fain of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Mazzie Grant, his brothers Eddie and Charlie Grant, and sister, Pinkie Green.
