William Mathew Jordan, Jr. was born July 7, 1933, in Huntsville, Ala., the son of William Sr. & Hazel Praiss Jordan. After high school graduation, William attended the University of Florida. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. William married Meredith Manghiss and they started their life together in Hammond, La. In 1964, they made the move to Southwest Georgia where William would eventually retire as President of Ga. Palm Beach.
Never one to miss a lick, William was all in on every hobby that suited his fancy. He enjoyed learning new things and would change up every so often but not without having attained knowledge of every single detail of the workings. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He always had a love for remote control airplanes, midget race cars, and racing go-carts. In fact, William took the pole position in go-cart racing until sometime in his 70s.
Survivors include his wife, Meredith M. Jordan; his children, Billy & Jane Jordan, Eddie & Nan Jordan, and Bobby Jordan, all of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Chase, Hallie, and Mallorie; his siblings, Margaret Larmoyeux of West Palm Beach, Hazel & Victor Laxson of Orlando, Frank & Judy Jordan of Bainbridge, and Jessie Barron also of Bainbridge; and a host of extended family. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sisters, Beth King and Debi Griffin.
