May Bell Green, age 94, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Monday, September 20, 2021.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Dean officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with grandsons serving as active pallbearers. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

May Bell was born July 8, 1927 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Paul H. Harrell and Waver Mae (Glover) Harrell. She was a clerk for the Top Dollar Store for many years and kept children in her home. She enjoyed fishing, reading, and watching her favorite soap operas, The Young and The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful. She also found time for reading and Word Search. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Richard Green (Angela), Harold Green (Peggy), Judy Solliday, Eddie Green (Donna), Patricia Newsome (Eddie); niece, Glenda (Green) Cross; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
May Bell was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Robert Riley Green; three brothers, J.P. Harrell, Wilmer Harrell, and Carlton Harrell; one sister, Abbie Sue Dukes; one son-in-law, Mike Solliday; two granddaughters, Nell Green and Christy West; two great granddaughters, Maggie Cutchin and Jessi Solliday; and one great grandson, Remington Walden.
