The Golf to End Alzheimer’s four-person scramble was held Friday, September 24, at the Bainbridge Country Club. The event was made possible by 33 community sponsors; fifteen teams totaling 60 golfers; and raised a whopping $15,000, all of which goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association. Rob McRae, Tournament coordinator, said “I would like to send a big thank you out to all of our sponsors, participants, the Bainbridge Country Club, and the entire Golf to End Alzheimer’s committee for all the help in putting on this event. Alzheimer’s is a disease that seems to have effected everyone in the community in one way or another so seeing the support and participation of this event was incredible.”

The 1st Place Gross with a score of 53 included Jacob Polsky, Mike Kraft, Chuck Friday, and Daniel Thursby. The 1st Place Net with a score of 51 goes to the BHS Team of Anastasia Davis, Cason Priest, Sam Surratt and Justin Logue (Teacher). There are a limited number of Purple #EndALZ hats still available for sale in the Bainbridge Country Club pro shop for $25, again with proceeds going directly to the Alzheimer’s Association. The golf event is just the beginning of Bainbridge’s Alzheimer’s Fundraising efforts and the Planning Committee hopes to see everyone out on the square for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 23rd. Teams and individual participants are encouraged.
