Carolyn Faye Willis was born October 2, 1944, in Cairo, Ga., the daughter of Pete & Rebecca McKnown Willis. She was a graduate of Cairo High School, Class of 1964, and an active member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Carolyn valued family, which included kin folks, church family and friends she met along the way. She loved them and they loved her. In fact, her “family” spoiled her rotten and she reveled in the attention. Carolyn managed to finagle her way in most situations making you feel like you had a great idea. She did not miss her weekly hair appointments and was always dressed to a T. Her tea cakes, 9 layer cakes and muffin bread caused a stir at every gathering with those that personally knew their goodness.

Survivors include her sister, Jane Bentley and her husband, Sam, of Shellman, Ga.; her nephews, Glenn Poppell, Steve Poppell (Tracy), Kenny Bentley (Lindsay), and Danny Bentley (Tasha); and her great-nieces and nephews, Whitney Poppell, Emilee Poppell, Seth Hendley, Morgan Bentley, Jaylen Bentley, Spencer Swick, Tristan Smiley, Noah Smiley, and Raina Plunske. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Ellen Willis and Sue Willis Poppell.
