Mr. Willis Eugene Nix of Colquitt died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Thompson Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Whitaker officiating. Interment followed at Thompson Cemetery with Lee Nix, Ean Thomas, David Brooks, Bryan Brooks, Scott Johnson, and Earl Johnson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Johnson, Billy Johnson, Matt Whittington, Anthony Ogg, Ron Mazan, Joey Helms, Arthur Sheffield, Charlie Perkins, and employees of Flint and Sunsouth. Visitation was Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Thompson Free Will Baptist Church from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Mr. Nix began his career at Powell Egg Company in Colquitt, Ga., and later worked with Sunbelt Equipment Company/Flint in Colquitt, Ga. He ended his career at Sunsouth LLC in Donalsonville, Ga. He was a member of Thompson Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Nix of Colquitt; one son, Tony (Tina) Nix of Colquitt; one daughter, Charlotte Brooks of Sylvester; six grandchildren, Cindy (Ean) Thomas, Lee Nix, Joshua Chancey, Tabitha Whittington, David Brooks, and Bryan Brooks; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Jaggers of Ashford, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice Thigpin Nix; four brothers; and two sisters.
