Georgia Anne Gause was born March 15, 1958, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Carlton “Bud” and Anne Moye Gause. She was a graduate of Bainbridge Christian School. Georgia earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in Early Childhood from Troy State University. Georgia served as a classroom teacher in Decatur County Schools for over thirty years. The highlight of which was being one of the first Pre-Kindergarten teachers in the system. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Georgia was a sweet soul with a kind spirit. She loved everyone (including her animals that she considered almost human) and saw the best in every person. Often she encouraged those that felt discouraged, complimented those who felt “less than”, and inspired those facing difficult decisions on their journey. By nature, Georgia was a giver. She gave of her time, her talents and her treasures with complete abandon. Georgia knew the importance of family and felt it was the cornerstone to life. Alani, Zeke, and Sadie enjoyed being spoiled by GiGi and will have lasting memories of reading together and learning things only a GiGi could teach you.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Al Mullis; her children, Leigh Mullis Powell (Zach) of Brinson and Dana Gribbins (Kevin) of Donalsonville; her grandchildren, Alani, Zeke, and Sadie; her sisters, Kaye Cox (Timmy) and Beth Hollis-Grubbs (BJ); her close friend, Marva Hay; and a host of extended family. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents.

The Mullis Family extends their sincere gratitude for the kind and compassionate care provided by Meme, Julie, Carli, and Marla.
