Micky Smith, age 53, of Donalsonville, Ga., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Rev. James Scarborough officiating.  Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born in Bainbridge, Ga., on Sept. 24, 1968, to William Ernest Smith and Dorothy Brooks Smith.  He worked as an electrician with BASF in Attapulgus, Ga.  Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandbaby.  He was a practical joker and dearly loved his dog, Harley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Christopher Smith and Emily of Donalsonville, Ga.; his granddaughter, Charli Kate Smith of Donalsonville, Ga.; his significant other, Amy Phillips of Bainbridge, Ga.; his sisters, Debra Coats of Bainbridge, Ga., Susan Newberry of Thomasville, Ga., Marie Barnes of Rochelle, Ga., and Cheryl Crenshaw of Pace, Fla.; his brother, Ricky Smith of Daytona, Fla.; and his special family, DJ Newbern and Anna and girls of Donalsonville, Ga.  He is also survived by his neighborhood family, Donald and Sherry Brinson, Steve Shores, and Sue Henson.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Smith and Dorothy Brooks Smith Green; his grandparents, Harmon and Ethel Brooks and Arthur Elbert “Shoemaker” Smith; his son, Michael Bryan Smith; and his adopted parents, Don and Geraldine Newbern.
