Mr. Jimmy L. Miller, age 75, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Services for Mr. Miller will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 21, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home.  The Rev. DeWitt Phillips will officiate.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with military honors, where Mr. Miller will be buried beside his wife, Elaine.   The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00.

Jimmy L. Miller was born in Douglas, Georgia, to Johnny Leo Miller and Maude Evelyn Rowell Miller.  Jim proudly served in the United States Army.  He enjoyed going to yard sales and loved to travel.  Jim worked in law enforcement.  He served as a firefighter with the Bainbridge Public Safety Department and later worked as the Chief of Police for Attapulgus, Georgia, and Climax, Georgia.  When he retired, he was serving the public as Warden of the Decatur County Correctional Institution.   Jim dearly loved his family, especially spending time with the grandchildren.  Jimmy L. Miller will be deeply missed by his family, his community, and many, many friends.

Jimmy L. Miller is survived by his mother, Evelyn Miller of Dade City, Florida; his children, Joyce Coddington (James) and Jennifer Yeager (Mark) both of Bainbridge; siblings, George Miller of Tampa, Florida, Pearl Brown (Clyde) of Dade City, and Herman Miller (Sara) of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, Ciarra Coddington, James Michael Coddington, Jr., Daniel Miller Coddington, Ashley Eakin Williams (Cameron), and Cassidy Eakin; and great-grandson, August Williams.  He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Leo Miller, wife Elaine Dollar Miller, son Johnny Edward Miller, and sister, Shirley Miller.
