The Spring Creek Charter Academy Drama Club is currently preparing for its second musical performance, scheduled to open this weekend, that being “The Little Mermaid Jr.” With Cotton Hall and the Bainbridge High School Drama department lending the production some of the props, students, parents and volunteers from the community have stepped up to help create the remaining sets. In addition, the Bainbridge Little Theatre has allowed the production to use its stage.
Krystal Apke, SCCA drama club director and marketing chair for the Bainbridge Little Theatre, reached out to the Post-Searchlight about the production. “It’s honestly been remarkable to have so much support,” she said. “Seeing our small town rally behind the performing arts has been very special. It’s such a great story we all know and love, but then you see these students bring it to life, and you can’t help but sing along!”
The play will open this Friday at 7:00 PM, followed at the same time on Saturday, with the last performance on Sunday at 2:00 PM. Doors open 30 minutes beforehand for ticket sales, with adult tickets costing $10, and $5 for kids and students.
