This coming Saturday the Bainbridge Decatur County Recreation Authority will be celebrating their annual youth baseball and softball opening day at the Bill Reynolds Sports Park. Beginning at 10:00a.m., the day will start with a player parade as the community will gather to see the future of youth sports and Bainbridge and show support to everyone involved in the youth sports programs in Bainbridge.
The 2023 spring sports participation for youth baseball and softball has seen even more growth from the past few seasons as there are 31 total teams with over 150 youth participants. Not only are there a great number of teams, but there is also a diverse age range with age groups starting at three and four, going all the way up to 11 and 12. Thanks to support and sponsorships from local businesses, the 2023 youth sports spring season is set to be another success as the Bainbridge community continues to grow.
Businesses represented in this year’s youth sports season includes Strictly Clean, Uncle Bills, Inland, First Port City Bank, Scoops, M&P Cattle Farm, Souther Pool Tech, Superior Industrial Services, Chick Fil A, Sterling IT, First National Bank, KTK Company, Sarimentos, Dairy Queen, BDCRA, Infuse, Action GM, Flint River Glass, Griffins Uniform, and Laredo Mexican Grill. Without the help and support of local businesses, the youth of Bainbridge would not have the opportunity to play baseball and softball and participate in the pageantry of opening day. Not only will opening day feature a player parade, introductions and a national anthem, but there will also be games, raffles and prizes for all to enjoy.
