Billy Charles Parker was born February 24, 1936, in Donalsonville, Ga., the son of Hosea & Ellie Lomineck Parker. He graduated from Seminole County High School and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Billy Charles married Barbara Ross in 1955, and they made their home in Southwest Georgia. He retired as a district sales manager for Flowers Baking Company and was a member of Delwood Baptist Church.

Outside is where Billy Charles wanted to be. He loved fishing, showing horses, and gardening. He tinkered with “his stuff” and always had a tale about something he rigged up and kept running long past the date it should have been junked. For decades, Billy Charles was responsible for most of the bread deliveries to our tables and our fundraisers. He rarely said no and always made sure there was plenty. After retiring from Flowers, Billy Charles decided to hit the road delivering trailers and wagons for Bee Trailers. Hog shows, ball games, dance recitals, cheerleading, school events, birthday parties, or just fooling around at Nanny & Granddaddy’s were the times he enjoyed the most.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Barbara Ross Parker; his children, Jana & Tim Stewart of Newnan, Ga., Jay & Melissa Parker of Bainbridge, and Denise Parker also of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Ross & Morgan, Heath & Whitley, Chase, Brannon, and Brittany & Isaiah; his great-grandchildren, CJ, Finn, and Camden; and his siblings, Cherry Stewart of Iron City, Ga., Ella Jo Speed of Macon, Ga., and Annette & W.L. Hooks of Dawson, Ga. In addition to his parents, Billy Charles was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Parker, and his grandchildren, Brandon & Allison Dean.
