The Bainbridge Basketball Cheer team is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 9. The team will have an inflatable water slide, slip-and-slide kickball and more water-based fixtures for attendees to enjoy.
“It’s just another fun day,” said head coach Kim Barthel. “We’re trying to give the kids something to do and giving the parents a break that wants one.”
According to Barthel, the funds raised will go towards uniforms, shoes and “anything else” the team will need for the season. She said the cheerleaders will be hard at work playing with the kids attending the event.
There will be a $10 admission fee, and the fundraiser lasts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hot dogs and drinks will be given out, and Barthel said she plans on having vendors at the event to provide more options.
Skate Towne is donating equipment for the fundraiser. Barthel said Skate Towne’s contribution and other support she has received are another reminder of the community’s support for her team.
“This community is continuing to just pour into us,” Barthel said. “It touches me every time.”
